We are diamonds

There is no light without darkness

Dear survivors….

We are diamonds,

we are geezers – no longer people pleasers.

We shine without being rubbed,

no longer snubbed in our own beds.

Then –

our heads never slept –

how could they?

How could we?

Sleeping with a killer – a frenemy –

waking up to a shaking bed,

words in our head,

we stopped listening to ourselves,

full of them,

dulled.

But now we are diamonds,

we catch the sunlight,

even in dark places we are light and it’s spreading,

we are heading for change.

We are diamonds

when we talk in our liberty walk,

we breathe,

we live,

we shine,

How long does it take you to realise that something dies when we walk through it?

Do you see it?

We walk on a shattered dream,

we dazzle,

cover your eyes with your blind lies

but we – the blindfolded are now moulded into gold holders,

struck with expert hands

the heat withheld the purity but

Now –

we…we….we… we are diamonds.

Levitating we dream less but

our truth is priceless
